Aishah Lee to become first undergraduate student to hold position as President of NOBCChE

“I am truly excited to see where I can help the club and increase its presence,” Aishah Lee, a senior biochemistry major who is also the first undergraduate student to become president of the Auburn Chapter of NOBCChE or the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers.

“NOBCChE provides networking opportunities and ways to help students of color prepare for a career in chemistry,” Lee added. “It also gives members a sense of family and a way to find additional support.”

For four decades, the national organization has offered professional development and advancement opportunities for its members. The Auburn Student Chapter supports the national mission and offers an array of events to help Auburn students prepare for their professional careers.

“It is important to see people who look like you in careers you aspire to be in. The webinars filled with career-centric information are beneficial,” Lee added. “The LinkedIn webinar helped me create my profile that will be essential as I progress towards my career.”
