Master's Student Award: Collin Sutton

Collin Sutton is a master’s student with research on the application of Big Data techniques to hydrologic and climate systems. He received a NSF-funded research assistantship and is seeking to fill the gap in the existing knowledge with the assessment of a large dataset of long-term groundwater monitoring wells through Big Data methodologies.

In addition to publishing multiple conference papers, he was awarded the ”Outstanding Student Presentation Award” at the 2018 American Geophysical Union meeting. He served as the geophysicist on Auburn’s first winning team at the 2018 AAPG Imperial Barrel Award competition, and chairs the Geology Honor Society Sigma Gamma Epsilon.
