AlAsmari graduated from King Saud University (KSU) with a B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2011. As a part of his bachelor's degree, he completed internship training programz at a community pharmacy, pharmaceutical companies and governmental hospitals. After that, he joined the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) in 2011 as a senior pharmacist in the executive directorate of pharmacovigilance and crisis management. During his work in the FDA, AlAsmari was a member and a coordinator of different committees and he attended different meetings and conferences in his field.

Currently, AlAsmari is a graduate student in the department of Drug Discovery and Development (DDD). His Ph.D. work focuses on investigating novel molecular signaling mechanisms that can protect the heart from damage against IR injury.
