Leaves are pinnately compound, alternate and deciduous with up to 15 toothed and often basally lobed leaflets.  Flowers are yellow in large, drooping clusters.  Fruit is a bladder-like, papery capsule.  Bark is gray-brown and shallowly grooved. Chinese raintree is a small ornamental tree from China.
