  • For Tuesday, there will be no live lecture, but I will have regular office hours. Instead, be sure to watch these two videos covering the remainder of Financial Statement Analysis: Ratio Analysis (about 30 minutes) and DuPont Identity (about 15 minutes). This is testable material, just as if it were delivered in class.
  • On Wednesday, we will discuss The Time Value of Money. I will have used financial calculators for sale for the Financial Management Association Honor Society for $20 cash. You will need at least a scientific calculator for Wednesday. The financial calculator will work fine.
  • Be ready for a quiz at the start of class covering the previous lecture's material. You can access Socrative at https://www.socrative.com or download the student app for free. You do NOT need an account.
  • In addition to the textbook, there is a course packet available at the Haley Center Bookstore. It has all the notes for the semester and is HIGHLY recommended (and inexpensive).
  • The textbook is available at the bookstore as a loose-leafed (resaleable) textbook.
  • Here is advice from last spring's students.
  • In about a week, we will begin using financial calculators. You will need to buy one before then. You do not need it for the first few days of class and we will talk about them on the first day.

Exam Information

The exam dates and times are listed below. These are NOT optional dates and times!!! Everyone will take the exam on those dates and at those times. If you have a university excused conflict, you must let me know in writing AT LEAST ONE WEEK in advance, and I will set a time for a make-up. Documentation will need to be provided. Failure to provide documentation or ONE WEEK notice will result in having to take the exam at the scheduled time.

If you miss an exam due to illness, you should contact me AS SOON AS you know you will miss the exam and are able to do so. Documentation will need to be provided and must state that you are unable to attend work/school on the day of the exam. Whether you contact me or not, the make-up will be the next business day at 9:15 AM. If you are still ill and HAVE DOCUMENTATION stating that you are unable to attend work/school on the day of the make-up, the next make-up will be the following business day at 9:15 AM. You must have a medical excuse for the date of the exam and the date of every make-up you miss. The make-up exam may not be the same format as that given during the regular exam time.

All exams are closed-book. They are to be completed individually. This means no talking, sharing calculators or pens/pencils, etc., and no wandering eyes. You have been warned: do not cheat! The University Academic Honesty Code is found in Chapter 1200 of the Student Government Association Code of Laws and in The Tiger Cub.
