Re: Executive Interview Summary
Kelly Mitchell was very helpful when called
upon to interview. Her past
experiences in Project Management helped answer the questions about Employee
Recruitment, Scope Statement Writing, and Subcontractor Relations. She helped me get an additional opinion on these areas that
contributed to an overall understanding of the importance of the topics. Her
comments are summarized as follows:

Recruitment by a company greatly affected her
since she was sought after personally
·
With very little construction knowledge, the
company easily transitioned her into the new position and when teamed up with a
knowledgeable team member, she received the best on the job training
·
Patience is the primary tool when working
with subcontractors. Especially if they are new
·
Dealing with subcontractors in a fair manner
is very important
·
Knowing the specs is vital! She reads them
from cover to cover
·
Company contracts are often standardized, but
she was highly involved with writing the details involving the craft
Overall, her comments reiterated what the guests that we had in our classroom stated. I do believe that any construction professional that comes into our classroom setting has valuable information to give us.

Re: Implementing Culture, Fairness, and
Health for Our Company
Dear
Fellow Co-workers:
Happy Holiday Greetings to you all! This is
an exciting time of year for you and your families and as the New Year
approaches, I would like to take time to mention a new program that we will be
implementing after the first of next month.
As Jericho Construction grows, it is through your hard work and
dedication that we improve each year. It
is vital that we keep growing internally as a company as well as externally.
In order for us to do that, we need to take new steps to grow and change.
Enclosed is a proposed action plan that will
help us achieve our goals. The
action plan is a strategy for Jericho Construction to implement company culture,
a policy on fairness to employees/clients, and promote the overall health of our
business. The purpose of this plan
is to increase productivity for our company through these ideas.
Although this plan will take an effort from you to implement, I have full
confidence that we will be successful in doing this, and ultimately make Jericho
Construction a more successful place to work.
I am excited about the task in front of us,
and I hope you will join me with full force in this effort!
