Assignment 1

Working in the same groups you used for your previous assignment, develop the following: 

1.  Create three scenarios that you feel would be difficult for the leader of a meeting to handle or manage. 

2.  List five reasons why meetings are unproductive.  Give examples when you can.

-  When finished compose an e-mail to Mike Waller that includes your response to items 1 and 2.  Copy Steve Williams in on the e-mail message.


Assignment 2

    You are a project manager for a commercial construction company in the southeast, and are responsible for constructing an ambulatory surgery center.  As part of the excavation, you will be required to blast rock under the building.  Local building codes require that you perform a survey of all existing residences within 1000 yards (which includes 34 residences).  You will need to conduct a meeting to kick-off this process.  Prepare and submit a meeting agenda including but not limited to:  location, time, purpose, attendees, and items to be covered.

Assignment 3

    You are required to seek out a meeting within the University or the private sector, consisting of a minimum of 5 attendees. Attend this meeting, obtain any information available at this meeting, and take notes.  Upon completion, write a 1 page minimum critique of the meeting including but not limited to: logistics, purpose, organization, attendance, atmosphere, and effectiveness.
