Outback Bowl

Auburn and Penn State in Tampa's Outback Bowl

Auburn has a New Year's morning date to meet Joe Paterno's Nittany Lions in the Outback Bowl in Tampa. Penn State was the "number 3" pick to represent the Big 10 in the Outback Bowl. Auburn was third choice in the SEC behind Florida and Tennessee. In the opening line Penn State was installed as a two-point favorite and that pointspread has not budged. Tickets in the Auburn section may still be available. General public tickets may be available through Ticketmaster. [STADIUM]

Coaching Matchup Hightlights Outback Bowl

The Outback Bowl pits college football's 1994 Coach of the Year against the 1993 Coach of the Year, but when Joe Paterno meets Terry Bowden at midfield prior to the Outback Bowl on January 1st, he will bring the experience of 25 bowl trips into the game. It will be just the first bowl trip for Terry Bowden and the Auburn seniors. Strangely, it's just that fact that has Joe-Pa worried. Meanwhile, Auburn QB Patrick Nix has some worries of his own.
