I am the Associate Director of the Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning at Auburn University. As of March 2011, the Office of Distance Learning and Testing Services has become part of the Biggio Center.
I moved to Auburn in January 2009 after teaching physics for 15 years. My interests are in the application of learning technologies to understand how people learn. My teaching of physics has focused on conceptual development of abstract physics ideas for all students - with a special interest in non-science majors and future educators. Read about my use of Classroom Response Systems under the Technology section of this website. Read about my past research in the TELS, MODELS and TELES projects based in schools and SPHERE in collaboration with NSU and NASA in the Research section. I was a 2003-04 Carnegie Scholar with the Carnegie Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, Stanford, CA.
