Welcome to the Web site for the Task Group on Radical Reduction Potentials.

This task group is supported by IUPAC and by the Swiss ETH.  IUPAC is the International Union for Pure and Applied Chemistry.  The task group is working on a three-year project to evaluate the reduction potentials and related thermochemical properties of radicals in aqueous solution.

The Task Group Leader is David M. Stanbury at Auburn University, AL, USA.

The other members of the Task group are:

Dave Armstrong                                  University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Bob Huie                                                   NIST, Gaithersburg, MD, USA

Wim Koppenol                                     ETH, Zurich, Switzerland

Sergei Lymar                                          Brookhaven Nat. Lab., Upton, NY, USA

Gabor Merenyi                                      Royal Inst. of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden

Pedi Neta                                                   NIST, Gaithersburg, MD, USA

Peter Wardman                                     Gray Cancer Institute, Middlesex, UK

Steen Steenken                                      Mulheim, Germany

The task group is engaged in evaluating reduction potentials involving aqueous radicals and related equilibrium constants.  The objective is to create a critically-evaluated set of tables of the following data:

                   Reduction potentials involving inorganic radicals

                   Reduction potentials involving organic radicals

                   Radical pKas

                   Radical association equilibria

It is anticipated that the results of this project will be published in 2006.
