JANUARY

·        Jan. 13-16: USPC Annual Meeting – Sheraton New Orleans, New Orleans, LA

Sponsored by Deep South Region.  This is a great chance for learning and exchange of ideas between clubs.  Karen O’Connor is the key-note speaker. 

 

FEBRUARY

·         February 12:  Regional Games Clinic Huntsville, Alabama.

      Huntsville Pony Club is offering a Games Clinic with Karine Gordy on Saturday, Feb 12, 8am-5pm in Huntsville at the Alabama A&M Agribition Center off Highway 72 East.  This new facility offers a huge, indoor, heated (Yeah!) arena with overnight stabling available at $21/night (includes 1 bag of shavings).
     The clinic format includes both mounted and unmounted games skills, with scrimmage matches in the afternoon.  Clinic slots are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis.  To sign-up, send a $25 check (plus stabling if requested) and a current Coggins to Nancy Smith, 1110 Appalachee Dr., Huntsville, AL 35801.  Bring your own lunch (or fast food restaurants are nearby).  Proper clinic attire required. Directions and agenda details provided to clinic attendees by Feb. 9.

·          February 26: MidSouth Regional Quiz Franklin, Tennessee.

Compete with your fellow pony-clubbers on a team and see just how much you know about horses!  Questions are determined by rating level and include topics like horse management, tack, nutrition, barn safety, etc.

·         May 28-29: Midsouth Regional Polocrosse Rally – Harvest, AL (near Huntsville)

A clinic may follow on the 30th.


JUNE

  • June 20-26: Midsouth Regional Mega Rally - Lexington, KY, KY Horse Park

CPC usually sends dressage and combined training teams.  If you wish to compete in another discipline, composite teams are available with other clubs.  Tetrathalon, show jumping, dressage, D1, D2, and up eventing rallies all in a row.  Tetrathalon Fri PM- Sun PM (18-19th) before that week at Masterson Station near KY Horse Park; Show Jumping Mon noon- Tues; Dressage Tues noon-Wed; D1 Wed-Thurs (dressage and stadium- no xc); D2, D3 eventing Wed noon- Fri; Beginner novice, novice, training, prelim eventing in conjunction with (non-P.C.) open horse trial Fri noon-Sun PM.

Are you curious about horse management?  There will be a horse management seminar on Wednesday in conjunction with this, for adults and older PC members.  The region requires us to send at least one person from each club to be trained.

July

August

  • August 3-7: USPC National Championships East - Lexington, VA, VA Horse Center

Must qualify in Regionals to compete.  Fun to go watch, as all disciplines of many levels compete at the same time.
