COURSE SYLLABUS Course Number: MATH7950 Course Title: Seminar Credit Hours: 1-4 Prerequisites: Departmental approval, graduate standing. Corequisite: Objectives: Graduate students are introduced to the work of departmental or visiting mathematicians. Course Content: Mathematicians are invited to the seminar to give presentations of their work or of interesting areas of mathematical research. Students are expected to attend a one hour seminar each week. A different faculty member will speak each week on current research in their area of expertise, or on topics such as computer usage in mathematics or advice on writing a thesis. This is a S/U course, with attendance and participation in seminar discussions being the criterion for obtaining a grade of S.
