COURSE SYLLABUS Course Number: MATH6200 Course Title: ANALYSIS I Credit Hours: 3 Prerequisites: MATH3100 or analogous course subject to departmental approval. Corequisite: Objectives: To present rigorously the fundamental concepts underlying calculus. The student is to develop proving skills in real analysis and to acquire competence in utilizing the relevant techniques in other areas. Course Content: Review of calculus. [3 days] Number System, [3 days] Completeness axioms of the reals, covering theorems [9 days] Sequences and series, review and extensions. [9 days] Continuity and differentiation. [12 days] Possible textbooks. Textbooks are chosen by the instructor and may change from year to year. Grading and Evaluation Procedures: Quizzes, test, midterm-exam, final exam. Other methods of evaluation are used at the discretion of the instructor.
