COURSE SYLLABUS Course Number: MATH4997 Course Title: HONORS THESIS Credit Hours: 1-6 Prerequisites: Senior status and enrollment in Auburn University Honors College Corequisite: Objectives: To have the student work with an instructor on an individual problem or topic of mutual interest. Sample Grading and Evaluation Procedures: Students will be expected to write up their original solutions to problems (or proofs of theorems) suggested by the instructor. Appropriate student work will be written up and handed in. Grade Calculation Proofs presented to the instructor: 50 % Written thesis: 50% Sample Statement Re: Accommodations Students who need accommodations are asked to arrange a meeting during office hours the first week of classes, or as soon as possible if accommodations are needed immediately.
