Social Science Education (CSS) Advisement Page:
Basic Information for Managing Your Social Science Education Program

This page is provided to assist CSS majors in managing their programs. Dr. John Saye (HC 5058) and Dr. Jada Kohlmeier (HC 5064) are the advisors for Social Science Education majors. If your last name begins A-L, your advisor is Dr. Saye. If your last name begins M-Z, your advisor is Dr. Kohlmeier. The easiest way to reach your advisor for a question or to set up an appointment is by e-mail: Dr. Saye: sayejoh@auburn.edu ; Dr. Kohlmeier: kohlmjl@auburn.edu . Please read carefully all of the information listed here before contacting your advisor.

Choosing A Major Within Social Science Education

You may choose from 2 majors: General Social Science/History, or Geography. In most cases General Social Science/History is the wisest choice because it allows you to teach a wider range of 6-12 subjects and increases your marketability. Please consult with your advisor early in your program if you are considering the GEOG option.
