Web Annotation Assessment Rubric

General Directions:

1. Search the internet for the top five most useful sites for your assigned topic. Be sure that you focus your review on specific sites or targeted areas of a site that are of immediate use in designing a problem-centered unit. Append a copy of the most pertinent page of each of the 5 sites to your review.

2. Rank order the sites from 1-5. Provide detailed annotations for each site.

2. Site content is appropriate for meeting powerful 7-12 social studies learning goals.

    Content has depth: Reflects the complexity of issues surrounding the topic

1. Review of features of site is clear and comprehensive.

    b. Consideration of reading level and possibilities for adapting content for use by readers below that level.

2. Critique of site demonstrates reflective professional competencies (see Reflective Professional Practices Rubric).

2. Use illustrates potential of content for provoking HOT: Analysis, synthesis, evaluation
