SYM-BLAST Statistics
As new databases are built for SYM-BLAST on a monthly basis, The Santos Lab keeps track of the growth of each database (measured as number of sequences). This will prove useful for charting trends in sequence submissions, etc. You are welcome to cite these data if you find them useful. NOTE: sharp increases and decreases in the sizes of the databases (i.e., DinoNuc and SymbioNuc) are typically due to the release of sequences from EST projects and how NCBI indexes those data.
