- We were assigned our birds by drawing them out of a hat. We were told to write an essay on the bird's attitude.
- It must be written on arches paper.
- It must be 12" x 20" in length.
- It must be lettered very, very neatly.
Do birds have attitudes? Well, apparently so, because our next assignment was to write an essay on a bird. This essay was not necessarily about what color the bird is, or where it resides. It was more about who the bird really is, how it would act if it were a human, and how it interacts with its surroundings.
This is the completed essay. As you can see, it must all fit into the designated area. It was the longest lettering assignment any of us had ever done. We used a straight edge for every line, and a circle template for the rest.
This is an excerpt from the essay. It just shows how the Oriole is like a person.
