CMU A list of internet resources concerning mainly contemporary
women's issues.
- Godey's
Lady's Book Online "Godey's Lady's Book
was one of the most popular lady's books of the 19th century. Each issue
contained poetry, beautiful engraving and articles by some of the most
well known authors in America."
- iVillage.com An interactive women's
magazine containing information on health, careers, parenting, weddings,
stocks, news, pets, money, etc.

Includes an index about women and women's issues.

National Museum of Women's History Contains a wide variety of images

- The National Women's Hall of Fame This
site contains biographies of all of the women who have been inducted

Program for the Study of Women and Gender at Rice University Links to
women's studies groups, centers, forums, journals, etc.
- Sappho.com This site contains an
extensive collection of poetry, art, and quotations. The site description says that it “is
intended to serve as a place of art and culture for women-oriented women,
offering a historical glimpse into lesbian lives and vintage views of
affection between women.”
- Subversion: Celebrating
Women’s Fiction This site includes information on romance
novelists and a great list of resources in their Exchange section.
- The Web Museum Network A number
of museums have on-line exhibitions (the Louvre, the Smithsonian,
the Metropolitan Museum Of Art). This one is particularly good.
Any of them may provide information about the representation of women.
- Women Airforce
Service Pilots This site is about "the Women Airforce
Service Pilots, WASP, the first women in history trained to fly
American military aircraft" during World War II.
- Women Leaders Online "The first
and largest women's activist group on the internet -- empowering women in
politics, media, society, the economy and cyberspace." This
website is a good news source for feminist issues.

Internet Dictionary Project "Use this search engine to locate
other Web resources on women and society."
- The University of Maryland's
Women's
Studies Database Check out their "Reading Room" for a large
selection of e-texts; this site also contains information about women in
computing, gender issues, film reviews, employment opportunities,
conferences, historical information, etc.

This site is maintained by the Ramsey Library at the University
of North Carolina, Asheville. This
site has dozens of resources; everything from the Medieval Feminist Index,
to the National American Woman Suffrage Collection, to the Women of
Southern Appalachia.

Wire on the Web Describes itself as a stylish women's magazine.
- Women
Writers: An Exhibition of Works from the 17th Century to the
Present This site includes images of many
women writers.
- WWWomen.com This site is a searchable
directory of hundreds of sites that are of interest to women's studies.
