About Pack 29...

Cub Scouting is fun -fun with a purpose. Cub Scouting focuses on teaching boys values,
building character, and developing leadership skills - all in the context of fun and family
togetherness. Cub Scouting allows you to spend time learning and growing with your son. Cub
Scouting is a family program designed for boys in the first- through fifth grade that helps give
boys a sense of personal achievement as they advance, learn, and earn badges.

When a boy joins the Cub Scouts, he will be assigned to a 'den.' A den is a group of six to
eight boys his own age that meet together to learn about good sportsmanship, good
citizenship, getting along with others, gaining new skills, and how to do their best. Dens are
part of a larger group called a 'Pack.' Pack meetings, held once a month, are attended by boys
and their families. This meeting gives parents a chance to see their sons in action.

Your son may choose any of the area Cub Scout 'packs' when he becomes a Cub Scout.
Pack 29 has about 60 active boys in Cub Scouts this year, and about 50 of these boys attend
WMR! Pack 29 is proud of our WMR connection, but we also have boys from all over the area.
We have families from most of the Auburn elementary schools, Lee-Scott Academy and boys
who are also home-schooled in our pack.

Pack 29 usually meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month during the school year from 6:30-
8:00 at the Auburn United Methodist Church Epworth Center. Pack 29 is proud to have AUMC
as its Chartered Organization (sponsor). The Boy Scouts of America and Pack 29 are nondenominational
and encourage Scouts to actively pursue their own religious beliefs.

In Pack 29, we have dedicated trained leaders who plan activities. We camp with our families
each fall and spring. Each summer, we take a special overnight trip to a place like the USS
Alabama Battleship, Chattanooga Aquarium, DeSoto Caverns, or the Atlanta Zoo. Our monthly
pack meetings are fun, exciting and each year we also host our own pinewood derby event!

PARENTS: Volunteers, both men and women, are needed to support the Cub Scout
program! Pack 29 knows that in order to have a strong pack, we need interested and
dedicated parents! If your son is interested in joining the Cub Scouts, please consider being a
Cub Scout Leader. Tiger Cubs (first grade) usually meet twice a month, while Wolf Cubs
(second grade), Bear Cubs (third grade) and Webelos (fourth and fifth grade) den meetings are usually held once a week. Training and support is provided to all adult volunteers.
