1. Does the textbook provide enough language material for preparation, presentation, practice and production activities?
2. Does the "text" in the textbook provide the best linguistic and physical contexts for presenting the new item? (It usually doesn't.)
3. Does the textbook provide enough language material for practicing the new item?
4. Does the textbook provide enough language material for application activities?
5. What summplementary language and non-language materials are needed for effective preparation, presentation, practice and application?
