Biographical Sketch

Robert E. Niebuhr

Robert E. Niebuhr, Associate Professor and Department Head of Management, Auburn University, received his BS degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, his MS degree in Engineering and the Ph.D. in Management from The Ohio State University. His research and teaching activities include leadership processes, behavioral aspects of decision making, and the influence of individual differences in attitudinal/behavioral interactions. His research activities have been published in professional journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, the Journal of Management and the Journal of Organizational Behavior. He also has presented numerous papers at professional meetings. Dr. Niebuhr has more than twelve years of experience in various engineering, marketing, and management positions with such companies as NCR, Armco Steel, and ABB Corporation. His experiences include working in both consumer and industrial product companies as well as providing consulting and management development training for various governmental, non-profit, and business organizations such as the Social Security Administration, the Department of Defense, Bryan Foods, Uniroyal, AT&T, Sony and the Energen Corporation. He has served Auburn University as Department Head in the Management Department and as Acting Dean of the College of Business. Dr. Niebuhr's current teaching responsibilities focus on strategic management decisions and the behavioral aspects of managing organizations.
