There are 820 million hungry people
in the world.
The challenge for our generation:
Find sustainable methods to feed
a growing population on a planet with dwindling resources.
My interest in sustainable agriculture began while working
with Quechua farmers in rural Bolivia during my Peace Corps service.
After working in Ireland as a landscape foreman, I came to Auburn to
learn more about agriculture, and the soil that sustains life and civilization.
Currently I run field research projects, as well as several laboratory
studies, coordinate the Auburn Community Garden, and advocate for increased
local bicycle use. I am very interested in international agriculture,
particularly in developing countries.
