So, I'm nearing the end of my time here in Florence, and I've got a list of my favorite places, compiled mentally in the past two years. Here's some places you should think about going:

Cinque Terre (one of the most beautiful places on the planet)... I wrote a bit about Riomaggiore (with pictures):

Siena (you'll just miss the pallio (race) but the main piazza is still amazing)
Verona (this is where Romeo and Juliette were)
Assisi (For many Italians, San Francesco is the most beloved of all saints, and there's a church inside of another church.)
Oh, and think about taking a bike trip through the chianti region. Maybe get a bike at Florence by bike

Restaurants:
Panini and a glass of wine:
I Due Fratellini (get something creative, and try the tartufo spread)
All'antico viniao di Firenze (have a glass of wine or two, listen to how many sweet words the guy uses for his customers: Tessoro, Caro,...)

Aperativo (free buffet when you pay for a drink)
Kitsch (in Piazza Beccaria)
Colle Beretto (most posh place)

Most romantic places for dinner:
Obika Mozzerella Bar
[I can't remember the name of this other one, and it's not on google but it is accross from Pizzaria Dante (which is on google) in Via di Santo Spirito]

Best dinner:
Il Lattini (get the bisteca alla fiorentina, and call for reservations early in the day.)
Cingiale Bianco (get wild boar appetizers, and some deer, lamb or boar)

Pizza:
Purgatoriao (if you have a car)
Trattoria Borgo Antico (in Santo Spirto)
RossoPomodoro (franchise, but still really good)
Or any other place that's not in a high traffic area and has a wood fired oven.

Gellato [name brands and franchise I know, but still the best]:
Grom
Carapina

On, and make sure you get to see the sunset from Piazzalle Michellangelo. Think about taking a bottle of wine and sitting on the steps, sometimes there's even a guy singing there.

Anyone have anything to add?
