Without a doubt the greatest civilization of the classical world is the
Roman empire. No other society of the times could amount to the roman's
superior armies, huge trade industry, and endless technological advances.
With the explosion of the Roman empire came a massive increase in construction.
The romans began an architecture of collossal spans and phenominal heights
through the use of domes,arches, and vaults. Combing these new techniques
with the load bearing techniques of the column and lintel the Romans were
able to bring the world of building construction to new heights.
