HOW TO ACCESS AUBURN NETWORK DRIVES
The College of Engineering network provides disk space for storing users personal and public files.
Files stored in public directory (U:) can be viewed by others also.
Here is a list of most commonly used directroies by the students.
Home Directory - H: Drive
Offcampus: Access it through WinSCP or secureCRT.
STEPS:
- Connect to scp.eng.auburn.edu with either WinSCP or SecureCRT.
You will enter the H: drive (home) directly.
Oncampus: Open H: drive in MyComputer.
Directory for Websites - W: Drive
Offcampus: Access it through WinSCP or secureCRT.
STEPS:
- Connect to scp.eng.auburn.edu with either WinSCP or SecureCRT
- Change the directory to /home/www/users/username
Oncampus: Open W: drive in MyComputer.
FTP Drive - U: Drive
You can store your files in this drive and others can access it at ftp://ftp.eng.auburn.edu/pub/username
Offcampus: Access it through WinSCP or secureCRT.
STEPS:
- Connect to scp.eng.auburn.edu with either WinSCP or SecureCRT
- Change the directory to /home/ftp/pub/username
Oncampus: Open U: drive in MyComputer.
Web Page in the OIT Computer Labs - P: Drive
This drive is for creating a web page from an OIT Computing Lab machine
and the format of the URL is, http://www.auburn.edu/~username/
Offcampus: Access it through WinSCP or secureCRT.
STEPS:
- Connect to mallard.auburn.edu with either WinSCP or SecureCRT. This is the H: drive in OIT labs.
- Enter the folder named public_html which is the P: drive.
Oncampus: Open P: drive in OIT Computers.
