*Geology of impact craters; impact-related stratigraphy and impact-boundary stratigraphy.
*Facies analysis and sequence stratigraphy of Phanerozoic sedimentary formations.
*Petroleum geology in southern Alabama basins and the basins of northern Belize, Central America.  

COURSES TAUGHT ON A REGULAR BASIS:
Concepts of Science; Physical Geology; Historical Geology; Engineering Geology; Planetary Geology, Impact Geology, Stratigraphy; Facies Analysis and Sequence Stratigraphy, Cycles in Earth History, Directed Research; and Thesis Research. I have supervised 19 graduate students in the Auburn University geology M.S. program.

Since 1975, I have published over 70 peer-reviewed scientific papers on sedimentology, stratigraphy, impact geology, lunar and planetary geology, and dinosaur biogeography.  For some recent papers, see the list in my biography (linked off my main page).  In addition, I have published over 150 scientific abstracts for professional papers presented at scientific meetings.  In the fields of scientific education and public understanding of science, I have published over 40 papers, including a few a monographs and books.
