Acceptance Criteria

Establishment of acceptance criteria may difficult. Without establishment of such criteria, it may be difficult to determine if the goals of testing have been met to a degree where implementation can proceed.

Establishment of acceptance criteria needs to be coordinated with the testing plan. Indeed, the testing plan needs to be based on the criteria for acceptance.

In determining acceptance criteria, certain considerations are needed:

Have the objectives been met
Are testers satisfied with functionality
Do changes (where appropriate) function correctly
Have system cycles been tested, and do they perform properly
Can ad hoc reporting requirements be met reasonably
Is documentation about changes (where appropriate) or system documentation available to those who will use the system/subsystem?
