A second ACD called PRU is also used. A value of 2 indicates non-IT entry/update capability. A code of 3 is for IT usage and implies entry/update capabilities. A code of 4 is also for IT usage and implies an additional capacity to delete requests. And, finally, a code of 5, also for IT only, implies the ability to take a request that has been completed and archived and reactivate it.
An AIMS application that permits tracking of uncompleted requests for a particular individual is also available, but for IT usage only.
When entering a new request, pressing PF3 or PF15 will bring up a blank screen. A request number will be assigned when the request is added by pressing PF1 or PF13.
Once a request exists, extended text entry is permitted. Press PF5 or PF17 to bring up the screen for extended text entry. Up to 99 lines of additional text may be entered.
When a new request is entered, email is generated addressed to the IT Applications Director and the IT Applications Manager. A new request automatically assigns the request to a non-existent project leader NA. When someone in IT changes this to an actual person, that person is sent email informing them of the assignment. When a request is marked as completed, email is sent to the person who originally entered the request.
