Key responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate coursework with a focus on child language acquisition, Child and adolescent language disorders, early childhood language disorders, and phonological disorders.
Supervise clinical practicum in the Auburn University Speech and Hearing Clinic especially with child and adolescent language clients.
Conduct research in the areas of child language development, child language disorders and multicultural issues.

Dr. William O. Haynes has published over 50 articles and textbooks in the field of child language development and disorders and is a nationally recognized authority in these areas. His textbooks Communication Disorders in the Classroom (Kendall-Hunt), Communication Development: Foundations, Processes and Clinical Applications (Williams & Wilkins), and Diagnosis and Evaluation in Speech Pathology (Allyn & Bacon) are widely used by training programs in communication disorders throughout the country.
