TEACHING INITIATIVES AND CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT Supervised the development and implementation of innovative classroom materials for the new double major in German and Engineering, (1st, 2nd, and 4th year classes) 2003-present Coordinated curriculum for Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Language-Secondary Education, Spanish, German, French, joint degree program Colleges of Liberal Arts and Education, Auburn University, 2002-2003 Established cooperation agreement for the Masters of German with the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, 2002 Served as Language Evaluator for Deutscher Akamenischer Austauschdienst / German Academic Exchange Service and Fulbright Scholarships, 2000-present Developed and implemented a new course, German in Cyberspace, GR 404, Auburn University, 1998. Created German Language Table (Stammtisch), a weekly meeting to enhance listening and speaking skills for German undergraduates, Auburn University, 1994-1999 Established Auburn University as one of only two testing centers in the Southeast for the Prüfung Wirtschaftsdeutsch International, an international Business German examination that grants official certification recognized worldwide by businesses and industry for students preparing for careers in international business and for business professionals seeking career advancement. I have administered the exam annually since 1993. Thirty-nine Auburn University students have earned certification, and four students (1995, 1996, 1998, 2000) have received paid internships in Germany, 1993-present Coordinated elementary German and supervised German Instructors, Auburn University 1993-2003 Developed and implemented new curriculum in Business German, Auburn University. The curriculum included a three course sequence in Business German, GR 401, GR 402, GR 403, that increases speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills in German language, familiarizes students with German business and economics practices, and focuses on Germany as a world trade partner in the European Union.
