Teaching of Statistics in High Schools

Participants in this class will
receive information about the importance of teaching statistics in high schools,
possible curriculum for a high school level statistics course, and how to teach
it. Additionally there will be discussion on how to begin a statistics course in
the high school, style and content of the course, sample syllabi, statistics
resources, and the Advanced Placement-Statistics exam. The participants will
have an opportunity to ask questions during the workshop.
Dr. Mulekar is a Professor of Statistics at the University of South Alabama, and
has been involved with teacher-training for several years. She has conducted
workshops for the College Board and has served on the Advanced Placement
Statistics Test Development Committee.
