In addition to presenting her work at the "Posters on the Hill" session sponsored by the Council for Undergraduate Research (CUR), Kris was also recruited to lobby for funding for undergraduate research.  In doing so she visited the offices of four US Senators.  She was able to get a photo with the Honorable Thad Cochrane, Senator from her home state of Mississippi.
