Volunteers - Alabama Hospice Organization

Volunteers are key members of any Hospice team. They support the entire family unit (patient, family, and friends) through a terminal illness, grief, and loss. Volunteers can choose to work directly with patients and their families or find other creative ways to touch the lives of Hospice staff and patients.

Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:

Direct patient and family support
Meal preparation
Babysitting, help with homework
Letter writing
Make small wishes come true
Games, music, etc.
Gardening, mowing grass
Sitting to relieve tired caregivers.
Typing, mail outs, data entry
Answering telephones
Being present to those in need
...And much, much more.
