COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to introduce students to Web publishing and expand  skills acquired in the prerequisite design course.   The major project for the course is the design, production, and publication of an on-line magazine.  Additional hands-on projects will allow you to develop related new media skills. This course lets you adapt the many things you've already learned about journalism for the emerging demands of new media.   You'll tell stories in ways that work for online readers and learn design techniques useful for online news sites.    Reading assignments, lecture and lab topics, and in-class assignments will vary based on the week's lecture and the lab schedules. Topics and assignments will be posted on the schedule, which you should check at least once each week.
