"Clingfire" was my first published story. It is set in Marion Zimmer Bradley's world of Darkover. The main character, Coryn Hastur, first appeared as a minor character in Mrs. Bradley's novel, Stormqueen. I had three more stories about Coryn published in this anthology series, before the series ended.
"Robes" introduces Kaitlyn Mellador, a character I use again in "The Lost Path." Kaitlyn is the main character in my unpublished novel, Godfire.
"Wings" is a retelling of the Icarus story. It is my first "dark" fantasy and the only story written in first person. With this sale to Realms of Fantasy, I ended my five-year stint as a "one-editor wonder."
"Sofia's Well" is a traditional fantasy story of the sword and sorcery variety. I plan to write some other stories using Zea and Byrn, the characters in this story.
"The Valley of Stones" is a short story about the wizard Garrin Windson, an important character in the series of novels I'm writing.
