Wedding Announcement in the Opelika/Auburn News
The bride's gown was of white satin embellished with pearls and sequins. The fitted
princess-style bodice had long sleeves which ended in points at the wrists. The flared chiffon
oversleeves were fastened with ribbon and cord. A white satin cape attached to the shoulders
formed a train. The fingertip veil of illusion was edged in white ribbon and held by a circlet of
white satin, cord and pearls. The bride carried a bouquet of white tulips, roses, gladiolas, and
gardenias arranged in a cascade with baby's breath and greenery. It was attached to an olivewood
New Testament belonging to the bride's mother.
