About Mark Burns

Mark Burns is Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and Director of the Health Administration Program at Auburn University. He holds the Ph.D. in Political Science from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, plus the A.M. degree in Political Science from Indiana and the B.A. degree in Political Science from Lambuth University, Jackson, Tennessee. He has been teaching at Auburn since 1975.

His primary teaching areas are health administration, health policy, and organization theory, and he has developed Web-based course materials.

He is married to Janet Burns, Administrative Coordinator for the Alabama Council on Human Relations, Auburn, and has four adult children--Susan, Thomas, Alan, and Elizabeth. They are active members of Trinity Lutheran Church.
