What's NewParent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Clinic
Mr. Bear waits for his big moment during a PDI teach session PCIT is an empirically supported treatment program for children with behavior problems. Developed by Dr. Sheila Eyberg, PCIT is a unique treatment program that focuses on promoting positive parent-child relationships and interactions while teaching parents effective child management skills.
The AU PCIT Clinic has helped many parents who find their child's behavior difficult to handle. Some of the issues that we treat include:
Frustrating behaviors like child noncompliance, temper tantrums, and talking back Treating children diagnosed with ADHD, ODD, or CD Providing a "parenting tune-up" to address mild childhood behavior problems Working to promote a more positive parent-child relationship Helping families who are going through a divorce or the reunification process
The Auburn University PCIT Clinic is located in Cary Hall at the Auburn University Psychological Services Center
