The USS Alabama fought during World War II in the Pacific
as a member of the fast carrier task forces. This South Dakota class
battleship sported 9 16-inch 45 caliber guns in three turrets, and
20 5-inch guns in ten turrets, plus 12 quad 40mm batteries and 56 20mm
anti-aircraft guns.
