Miraflores, Lima

The flight was very good and though I was at the tail from Houston to Peru, I did not get sick with the ear patch. When we arrived we went straight to the host family´s house and they took me on a ride to the malecon [beach way up high] and we walked. It was cold and windy but real neat to see all the people. At one place it reminded me of coconut grove in Miami. There were brides in one of the parks taking pictures. We returned home about midnight. I was soooo tired. I lived with a senora and her daughter and her husband. I never saw them in the beginning. Towards the end they took me places and even asked if she could come and live with me (illegally and better her English since she could not find a job at the time. The senora ate with me and wanted to talk all the time. It was the first time she had had a boarder and she wanted to please.

We lived with host families in the neighborhoods of Miraflores and San Isidro.

Every home was different, ranging from the quite luxurious to the modest but functional.
This type of hot water heater was certainly different than what we are accustomed to in the States.
