Up to five Master’s level students working on
Spanish as a Second Language (SSL) degrees at
Universidad Nacional (UNA) in Costa Rica

Up
to five Auburn University students working on
advanced degrees (M.Ed. or Ed.S.) in Spanish as
a Second Language (SSL)
-All candidates must have an
interest in teaching and curriculum development
as well as SSL research.

Costs |

Students from UNA register for a Professional
Development course at UNA.

Auburn students
register for a Practicum in Foreign Language
Education at AU.
-
All students pay their own
airfare and personal expenses.
-
Room and board is
provided by the host families. |

Objectives |
UNA students will have opportunities to:

Observe
methodology for teaching modern
languages in a variety of school
settings,
-
Observe
family life as a guest in the
home of an Auburn faculty member
or a member of the community,
-
Become
familiar with Auburn, the
surrounding areas and their historic sites, and
-
Investigate
a project related to a specific
topic of their choice.
|
AU students
will have opportunities to:
-
Observe
methodology for teaching modern
languages in a variety of school
settings,
-
Observe
family life as a guest in the
home of a family in Heredia,
Costa Rica,
-
Become
familiar with Heredia and other
selected sites, and
-
Investigate
a project related to a specific
topic, such as immigration.
