LAB REPORT - EXERCISES 4 and 5

Refer to ZY560 syllabus for Recording Criteria which should be on each Physiograph record. Data
from Physiograph record must be used to support discussion.

Exercise 4:
     Section A
           1.    Title page
           2.    Part I - Threshold and Maximal Stimuli (Gradation of Response)
                      a. Physiograph record
           3.    Part II - Effect of Frequency of Stimuli (Genesis of Tetanus)
                      a. Physiograph record
           4.    Discussion- Part I and II

Exercise 5:
Section B - Normal Form Curve
           1.    Physiograph record
           2.    Discussion - Include maior events of muscle contraction which occur in each phase;
                  compare duration of each phase.

Section C - Effects of Temperature
           1.    Physiograph record: T, (room temp.) - T,
           2.    Graphs
                      a. Time vs. temperature. Effects of temperature on 3 phases of a
muscle twitch. One graph, 3 lines.
                      b. Tension vs. temperature. Effect of temperature on maximum tension
                           of a single muscle twitch.
           3.     Discussion

Section D - Effects of Fatigue
           1.    Physiograph record: F (normal); F (fatigue1); F (fatigue2); F (fatigue)n
           2.    Data table - compare normal and fatigue times of each twitch segment (i.e., latent,
                  contraction, and reiaxation); compare tension.
           3.    Discussion
