Tips for new students
The closest airport to
Auburn is Atlanta,
Georgia’s - Hartsfield-Jackson
Inernational
Airport (about 100 miles from
Auburn). It is a busy International airport and is
the most frequently used airport by the people of
Auburn. We would recommend you fly there.
Before getting on
the plane
Do NOT put your I-20
form into your checked luggage. Your I-20 form
and your passport should be with you when you arrive at the customs in the
US airports.

You can take a
shuttle to Auburn.
These shuttles run a few times a day and they depart from the "Ground
Transportation" section, right out of the airport terminals. Currently, only
the shuttle company "Express 85" operates on the Atlanta-Auburn route. You

Get on I-85 South
and drive about 95 miles.

Take exit 51 (You
will see a big street sign “Auburn
University Exit”
on I-85)

Exit 51 will put you
on South College Street, drive north (take the right after taking exit
51) until you see Auburn University Buildings on the left (Samford
Hall is the easiest one to notice, click
here to see a picture of
Samford Hall). Most of the
Auburn University
buildings will be on the left including Hargis Hall where Office of
International Education and
Graduate
School are present.

What to do upon
arrival to Auburn?

Please immediately
check in at 201 Hargis Hall, bring all your
immigration paperwork, passport and other documents. ALL accompanying
dependents must also bring their documents as well.

Make sure you attend
the orientation sessions. You can check your orientation schedule when
you check-in at 201 Hargis Hall.

You and your
dependents (if any) will be automatically enrolled to a health-insurance
program by Auburn
University. This insurance will be billed to
your bursars bill.
