Moose, beloved Auburn University therapy dog, passed away recently after a hard-fought battle with osteosarcoma. Moose lived more than four years after receiving his diagnosis, far exceeding the typical life expectancy of 3 to 6 months with treatment. He was a stoic soldier, and the College of Veterinary Medicine’s (CVM) most beloved patient. During his treatment and follow-up appointments, Moose made sure to greet as many CVM staff members and clients and their pets as he could.
For the 11th time, Aubie the Tiger has won the national championship for collegiate mascots, beating 10 other Division IA schools at the 2024 Universal Cheerleading Association National Championships.
Aubie’s performance, titled "Aubie’s Great Escape Room," captivated the audience and judges as he skillfully navigated through an array of challenges, employing audio cues and props to enhance the experience.
Each year, Auburn University recognizes the efforts of three outstanding individuals who represent our institution through their unsurpassed humanitarian leadership and contributions to the community. Faculty, students, staff, alumni and friends of the University are encouraged to nominate individuals they believe are deserving of this prestigious honor.
Eligible recipients for the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award include one male and one female student from the 2024 graduating class as well as one nonstudent member of the campus community.
