SEC Championships

The Auburn Wrestlers at the SEC Tournament

The Auburn wrestlers placed 3rd overall in the National Collegiate Wrestling Association SEC Championships on February 18th, 2006. The team took twelve wrestlers to the tournament, nine of whom placed top eight, in their respective weight classes. Jeremiah Lamphere took home the gold placing first in the 141 pound weight class. Next, John Mark Rives finished second in the 165 pound weight class. Justin May ended the tournament in 3rd place weighing 235 pounds. Taylor Miller and Will Cutchen finished 4th in the 141 and 184 weight classes, respectively. Greg Gilland and Jack Carey placed 5th at 184 and 197. Auburns 8th place finishers were Trey Hamer at 125 pounds and Anthony White at 174 pounds. Finally Jed Harris, Allan Westenhofer, and Austin Rousayne wrestled tough but did not place.
