Tau Sigma Delta is the only honor society nationally recognized in the field of architecture, landscape architecture, and the allied arts. The Society is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies. This is a distinct honor and gives Tau Sigma Delta the same high rating enjoyed by most distinguished honor societies of other educational fields.
The Alpha Theta chapter of Tau Sigma Delta at Auburn University was started on 2 May, 1978. Activities of the chapter include the annual initiation banquet, participation in the AU Can, and sponsorship of a student lecture series known as the Brown Bag Lunches. The Alpha Theta chapter also supports the annual AU AiAS Pumpkin Carve through sponsorship of the Pumpkin Carve Costume Contest. Each year, Tau Sigma Delta presents a book award to be given at Awards Day to the top student of each discipline within the allied arts.
