I can get pre-registered for 12 hours before having
attended SOS!? That's Great! How?
You must submit your application, $200 tuition deposit,
all transcripts, and the Transfer Plan of Study prior to the deadline.
Deadline for spring admits is September 15. Deadline for summer
and/or fall admits is February 1. Even if you are pre-registered,
attendance at SOS is still required. At SOS you will be given the information which will allow you to change your schedule as you wish. Pre-registered
classes are assigned based on your transcript(s) and Transfer Plan of
Study. Any changes in major after you have been pre-registered could
result in loss of pre-registered classes.
Will I register for classes at SOS?
Depending on which session of SOS you choose to attend,
you may or may not register for classes. If you attend SOS before your
class (Senior, junior, etc) registers, you will be given the information to allow you to register from home.
Otherwise you will register for classes at SOS. Please
consult the Auburn University Schedule for registration dates.
How do I register for SOS?
Registration for SOS is done online at www.auburn.edu/sos2008.
If you have any questions, please call our office at (334) 844-4501,
and we will accept your registration over the phone.
How much does SOS cost?
The cost for attending SOS is $75 and is placed on the
student's Bursar Bill. This fee includes breakfast, program materials,
lunch, and a t-shirt. Parents and guests may attend SOS for a cost of
$50 per person. This fee includes breakfast, program materials, and
lunch.
What do parents and guests do at SOS?
There is a special program for parents and guests of new
students that runs concurrently to the student program. This program
teaches parents and guests about university programs including food
services, housing, campus safety, financial aid and other programs. It
also provides parents and guests with an opportunity to ask any
questions they may have.
What should I bring to SOS?
There are several items that should be brought on the day
of SOS:
- Wear comfortable
clothes and shoes (parents, guests, and students).
- Bring an umbrella or
rain jacket.
- Bring a backpack to
put all of your program materials in.
You'll carry these items around for the duration of
the program. A backpack, messenger bag, etc. would prevent you from
having to carry them by hand.
- Bring your
driver's license or other form of picture ID in order to have your
student ID made.
What are the dates for SOS?
The dates of SOS can be found
here.
Where do I park on the day of SOS?
All new students attending SOS receive a guest parking
pass in their confirmation packet. This pass entitles them to park
in any legal C-Zone parking place on campus only.
However, a shuttle service is provided from the Max Morris Drill
Field C-Zone parking lot (Next to AU Credit Union on Magnolia Ave.)
The use of this service is highly recommended. Directions
to this parking lot can be found
here. (This map requires the use of Adobe Acrobat Reader. Click
