Undergraduate Scholarships

General Scholarships

Criteria for General Scholarships vary and may include but not be limited to geographic location as defined by city, county, or state of residence and/or high school attended, academic achievement, and financial need. Students must apply through the new Auburn University Scholarship Opportunity Manager (AUSOM) to receive consideration for all General Scholarships for which they meet the criteria. Unless otherwise noted, recipients are selected by the Office of University Scholarships. General Scholarships are awarded competitively in early April at an average award amount of $1,500 for one year, and consideration does not guarantee a scholarship will be awarded.

Requirements

Students must apply through the new Auburn University Scholarship Opportunity Manager (AUSOM) to receive consideration for all General Scholarships. To receive consideration for need-based scholarships, students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available online beginning January 1. The FAFSA should be received by Auburn University by the financial aid priority deadline of March 1. For a complete listing of available General Scholarships, click here.

Incoming Freshmen

  • Apply through AUSOM by March 1
  • Minimum 3.0 high school GPA

Priority consideration is given to incoming freshmen who apply through AUSOM by December 1 and have not previously been recognized with a scholarship valued at resident tuition or greater. Incoming freshmen with a test score and GPA at or above the averages of Auburn's most recent freshman class are more likely to receive an award.

  • Minimum 3.0 transfer GPA

Priority consideration is given to transfer students who have a minimum 3.5 transfer GPA, have earned a minimum of 45 transfer hours, demonstrate financial need, and have not previously been recognized with a scholarship valued at resident tuition or greater. • Pursuing a first undergraduate degree unless otherwise indicated
