Students must complete the scholarship application through the Auburn University Scholarship Opportunity Manager (AUSOM) to receive consideration for all General Scholarships. To receive consideration for need-based scholarships, students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)*, available online beginning January 1. The FAFSA should be received by Auburn University by March 1. For a complete listing of available General Scholarships, click here. Unless otherwise noted, recipients are selected by the Office of University Scholarships.
Priority consideration is given to incoming freshmen who have not previously been recognized with a scholarship valued at resident tuition or greater. Incoming freshmen with a test score and GPA at or above the averages of Auburn's most recent freshman class are more likely to receive an award.
Priority consideration is given to transfer students who have a minimum 3.5 transfer GPA, have earned a minimum of 45 transfer hours, demonstrate financial need, and have not previously been recognized with a scholarship valued at resident tuition or greater. Transfer students with the highest transfer GPAs and the greatest number of transfer hours are more likely to receive awards.
- Complete the scholarship application through AUSOM by March 1
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative, unadjusted Auburn GPA following fall semester
- Pursuing a first undergraduate degree unless otherwise indicated
Priority consideration is given to current students who have attained a minimum 3.5 cumulative, unadjusted Auburn GPA at the conclusion of fall semester, have achieved junior class standing, demonstrate financial need, and have not previously been recognized with a scholarship valued at resident tuition or greater.
*The FAFSA is the only form a student is required to complete to be considered for student assistance from any of the Title IV, HEA programs except for information needed to ensure the student’s eligibility for such assistance (e.g., information needed to complete verification or to demonstrate compliance with the student eligibility provisions of the HEA and the regulations). Additional information, if requested, will be listed on the student’s Tiger I Financial Aid Requirements page after the student’s FAFSA results are received. For additional information, visit the Office of Financial Aid.
