Departmental Scholarships

Departmental Scholarships are awarded by Auburn’s 12 colleges and schools. Criteria vary and include, but may not be limited to, academic major, geographic location, academic achievement, and financial need. Departmental Scholarships can be found in AUSOM by browsing "All" scholarships and filtering for the name of the college/school in which enrolled or planning to enroll or by searching using the major as the keyword.

To receive Departmental Scholarship consideration, students must complete the scholarship application through AUSOM by 4:45 p.m. CST on the following dates:

  • February 10 for accepted incoming freshmen and transfer students
  • March 1 for current Auburn students
  • June 1 for Nursing or Veterinary Medicine students accepted into the professional program and Pharmacy students enrolled in the professional program

Students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)*for financial aid. The FAFSA is available online beginning in October at fafsa.ed.gov and should be received by March 1 for consideration of financial aid, including need-based scholarships.

Departmental Scholarships are awarded in early April, and award amounts vary. Additional Departmental Scholarship information may be found on the websites for each college or school.

*The FAFSA is the only form a student is required to complete to be considered for student assistance from any of the Title IV, HEA programs except for information needed to ensure the student’s eligibility for such assistance (e.g., information needed to complete verification or to demonstrate compliance with the student eligibility provisions of the HEA and the regulations). Additional information, if requested, will be listed on the student’s AU Access My Finances page after we receive the results of the FAFSA. For additional information, visit the Office of Financial Aid.
